Apollo is an LA Based band that specializes in performing Greek Music of all styles. Apollo has thrilled audiences at Greek festivals and musical events throughout the United States and now for the first time appears here in Hawaii.
The band is comprised of musicians Yanni Goudelis (originally from Corfu) Keyboards/back-up vocals, & Lead Vocals – Margarita, Drums – Thanasis Moustos. Originally form Athens, by way of Chicago, Bouzouki/back-up vocals – Louis Skoby.
Apollo’s instrumentation consists of the keyboards, drums and the national stringed instrument of Greece, the bouzouki. The bouzouki can best be described as a lute-type instrument with a pear-shaped body and a long neck. It is strung with three or four courses of double strings, much like a mandolin.
Apollo performs Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon till 8PM in the main courtyard of McCoy pavilion at Ala Moana Park.
